Getting ready for the indoor season Yipee !

2009-2010 Indoor F3p season is almost upon us. I have received my new EON X Lite 350mah Lipo packs and tested them again today. The packs are slightly heavier than the Eon-Lite packs from last season, but I have to say these are really a cut above any other pack on the market today.
I have found the new X range of packs to be so so constant in power and this really helps as you donot have to compensate with additional throttle movement. The power is so constant that I had a wee smash on my second flight lol. I was used to the older packs tapering of and I knew when to land, the new Eon x -Lites give you no warnings at all. Lesson learnt so now the timer is set on my tranny.

Both MY friend John and I travelled to the local mountain for a evening of slope soaring but on arrival the winds dropped. Out came the DL50 and when nothing else flys , the DL50 will give you great fun flying.
These are a few snaps of Johns DL50 and of me and a foam thing, no name yet but at 105g it sure is fun!

Test Flight of the DL50 Glider

The Test flight of my new DL50 glider was pure heaven, from the initial over head javelin style launch the glider tracked straight and true and no elevator trim had to be made. I added 2 degrees of up elevator and put this on a switch on my tranny for launch mode.
Next it was a soft discus launch and as I had though the DL50 climbed out tracking straight at around 45 degrees and to a height of 20M. I did the testing on the beach in the late evening and winds were very light around 2-5mph. I was more than pleased !
I will show you a few build pictures, but its back to work for now.

Expressfly have kindly given me another DL5O to have fun with during the coming summer months . This week I have spent building the DL5O and have logged what and how I build this beautiful fun glider.

I am off today to the Northern Irelands North Antrim Coast to test fly her, so it will be a few days before I return and finish this posting. This is a fantastic model for sloping on the sand dunes.

NEW SUK-31

This is the SUK-31 that I have been working on this last year or so . Finally it is now in production thanks to expressfly. The SUK made its first appearance at the UK F3P championships flown by my friends Matthew Poots and Richard McMasters.

Richard took a well earned 1st place flying the SUK in the F3P-C schedule. Just shows how this plane not only flys 3D/Aeromusical but it is also a very accurate plane for F3P schedules.
